SEO and Some Surprising Myths
As most internet marketers know, SEO is a process learnt over many years. It is very often a process of trial and error, but ultimately they learn from their mistakes. New internet marketers today though face a whole host of problems, not least the fact that there is a whole lot of information circulating on the internet that is just not true. A lot of this stuff is content that has been doing the rounds for many years. People just rewrite it and then repost it, not really knowing what they are talking about. A couple of these myths are listed below.
The first myth is about page rank and how this can determine your websites rankings. This is an utterly false statement. Just search on Google for any keyword and you will see that sometimes PR 8 sites can be listed under PR 1 sites, and PR 0 sites regularly appear higher in the rankings than PR 3 and 4 sites. Because Google utilises a lot of different factors for page ranking, no one of these is dominant.
Myth number two is the one that says that low competition keywords are real easy to rank for. This is also not true. While a good general rule of thumb is to work with the so-called “low hanging fruit”, many webmasters make the mistake of looking for keyword phrases having less than XYZ competition and then just working with these.
In actual fact, looking at phrases under XYZ competition should only be the start of the research. You can have keywords with less than3000 competition being very hard to rank for, while some with over 10,000 could be easy. There are other factors that should also be considered as well. Page optimisation, cheap generic cialis backlinks and strength of competing sites are all some of these factors.
